You can waive two courses in SUNY Buffalo State University’s online M.S. in Public Relations program with the Accreditation in Public Relations credential!

Public relations professionals who hold the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) will receive credit for two master’s-level courses upon acceptance to SUNY Buffalo State University’s online Master of Science in Public Relations program.

What Is the APR Credential?

The APR credential has been internationally recognized for more than 50 years as the industry standard in credentials for public relations professionals. It’s proof of professional expertise, ethics, and dedication in today’s dynamic communication environment. As a result, APR holders have the unique opportunity to accelerate their progress through our online Master of Science in Public Relations program by applying their APR credential for six credit hours (two courses).

Successful Applicants with the APR Credential

Receive 6 hours of transfer credit

APR certification proves you have the expertise to forego two courses in the MS in PR curriculum: COM 610 PR Principles & Practices and COM 621 Theories of Public Relations.

Save 20% on tuition cost

Our online program is already a great value for a high-quality graduate program, but with two fewer courses, students with APR certification can earn their master of science degree for even less money. You also can apply for financial aid and/or spread courses out to pay smaller amounts over time.

Save time.

Time is a precious commodity! By earning credit for two courses through the APR credential, you’re saving one semester of graduate-level coursework.

Earn a master’s degree by completing just 9 courses

Our online program, which holds the prestigious SUNY Online+ designation as a high-quality online program, is completely online and flexible for busy working adults. Because the APR credit reduces the number of courses required for the degree by two courses, you’ll be able to finish your degree quicker.
