Students are required to meet with an advisor (every student in the Communication Department has a specific advisor) prior to registration. Timely advisement will keep you on track for graduation.
Communication students have the opportunity to hone their skills by working in a professional setting related to their intended career. Learn more about internship placements, required forms, and reports.
Develop your professional skills while having fun. Student organizations include the Record (student newspaper). BSC-TV, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), WBNY-FM 91.3, and the Communication Honor Society.
Each year, Buffalo State awards scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, field of study, or a combination of those criteria. The Communication Department offers several scholarships specifically for its majors.
Getting ready to graduate? Are you sure? Check that all requirements needed to earn your degree have been completed. If in doubt, contact your advisor or the department today.
All communication students taking production courses that require equipment to complete class assignments may check out cameras. microphones, monitors, and software through the department's equipment loan website.
