Students are encouraged to meet with an adviser (every student in the Communication Department has a specific adviser) prior to registration. Timely advisement will keep you on track for graduation.
All communication students who require equipment to complete class assignments may check out cameras. microphones, monitors, and software through the department's equipment loan website.

The department collects resources concerning academic ethics, diversity, writing, professional organizations and online media.
Each year, Buffalo State awards scholarships based on academic merit, financial need, field of study, or a combination of those criteria. The Communication Department offers several scholarships specifically for its majors.
Develop your professional skills while having fun. Student organizations include the Record (student newspaper). BSC-TV, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), WBNY-Fm 91.3, Bengal News Online, and the Communication Honor Society.
